The rebirth of my blog

I’m upset, annoyed, sad and baffled. Why would someone hack into my blog and delete it? Clearly there are a lot of unpleasant people out there. I’ve been tweeting about it and discovered someone whose blog suffered the same fate. I asked her what she did and she said: “I cried a lot and then told myself to stop my self pity and start all over again.” So here goes I’m starting all over again!

My blog’s my way of sharing great food experiences with all of you. Cooking for me is a creative and relaxing process. Eating in restaurants is an adventure, a voyage of discovery. So let’s start again and enjoy the amazing way food brings us all together.

You can look forward to recipes I’ve perfected over the years as well as new ones I’m trying out. Like this fantastic Fusion Potato Salad from my favourite recipe book of the year, A Week in the Kitchen by Karen Dudley.

A yummy potato salad recipe

I also love eating out, so you can read about the best of my restaurant experiences, mainly from London, where I spend most of my time. Here’s a stunning plate of tapas eaten at La Tasca in St Christopher’s Place on a beautiful London summer evening.

Luscious tomatoes and melted goat’s cheese

And what’s the best thing about food? It tastes different all over the world. The perfect excuse to travel and sample what’s on offer elsewhere. This recently meant a visit to Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy – rated the sixth best restaurant in the world. A truly stunning experience, and my main course had to be the best guinea hen dish ever, each mouthful was a revelation.

A stunning three Michelin star dish

I’ve recently been to the beautiful Spanish region of Murcia, so watch this space for some tasty dining experiences from there. To whet your appetite, here’s what some of the scenery looks like. The food’s just as stunning!

Food always tastes better with a view

My deleted blog  had gathered a lot of loyal followers and I really hope I am able to get back in touch with all of you again. Please follow me by clicking on the follow button and give me some feedback. And do tell your friends that eatingcoventgarden is back and it’s here to stay whatever those stupid, destructive hackers try to do. Sorry, time to calm down…

Next time from sunny Espana! Adios until then.

  1. Hi, good luck with the new blog. I really feel for you, I would be totally devastated if it happened to me! I hadn’t come across your old blog, but I shall be delighted to follow the new one! 🙂

  2. Great to see your back and I hope with a vengeance, you have shown the idiots who have done this wrong a thing or 2, good luck and loking forward to some more excellent recipes to give a try

  3. I am really sorry to hear about your blog being hacked, I don’t know what I would do if mine were hacked, yes probably cry a lot!! Well done for getting up, dusting off and starting again. Look forward to reading it. I wasn’t aware of your blog before, so I suppose the positives are that promoting your new one made me notice you, and hopefully others will do so too. Good luck! X

  4. Positive person that you are, good luck with the new blog. Look forward to reading about all the amazing food you experience, and to share your recipes (just made the Harissa chickpea and courgette salad from A Week In the Kitchen – divine).

  5. What a bummer about your older blog!!! that’s actually a very scary thing to read about because it could happen to any of us. Why would someone do that? Anyway, I wouldn’t have found you if it hadn’t happen, so I’m glad I saw your comment on Dailybuzz. I look forward to seeing more of your recipes because your potato salad is definitely a winner! Good luck to you Darlin! I’ll be back soon!

  6. Truly awful. I’m glad you’re starting again. I remember (years ago!) in my final year of school my computer crashed and so did the floppy disk (heh, remember them?) with the back up. The night before a major project was due. Darn technology!!

Good on you for picking up and carrying on. See you again soon for a commiseratory/celebratory hot chocolate! xx
